Welcome to the new Upper Elementary School of North Hanover Township. The opening of a brand new facility is an incredibly exciting opportunity for everyone involved in the educational process, administrators, staff, parents and especially, our primary clients, the children.

In today's rapidly paced society, it is our responsibility as educators to provide a learning environment that is physically secure, emotionally nurturing and academically challenging. This is a responsibility we meet head-on at our new school.

Security procedures, including retina scan for building access, are planned and should be operational by the start of the school year. Remote motion-activated cameras throughout the facility and its grounds have been installed in an effort to maximize the safety of the children. This is primary in all we do.

We provide an environment that is emotionally nurturing. Many fifth and sixth grade children have a difficult time adjusting to both the physical and emotional changes that occur at this age level. Our staff and counselors are very cognizant of these difficulties and work very closely with parents and children to insure a positive school experience.

Academically, our program is very challenging and ranked among the best in the State. This year, with the opening of the new school, we will be revising our scheduling in an effort to maximize the time the children are in school. We are in the business of teaching children skills and attitudes that will not only provide success in the short term, but will remain with them throughout their lifetimes. We do not expect every student to attain the Honor Roll, but we do expect every child to work to the best of his or her ability. We expect HONESTY, EFFORTRESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY. These are the qualities we believe will lead to success in life.

Working together, we can insure a rewarding educational experience for both you and your child.

Sincerely,

Paul A. Murdaco
