In our classroom, we use a variety of online learning platforms to support your child’s growth in reading, writing, social studies, and social-emotional learning. These programs are accessible at school and at home and are designed to be engaging, personalized, and aligned with 5th-grade NJSLS standards.

How to Log In šŸ” 

Here’s how your child can access all the programs we use:

  1. Go to our district’s ClassLink launchpad:

  2. Click ā€œCan’t find your login page?ā€

  3.  Click ā€œSign in with Googleā€

  4.  Use your child’s school Google account: Email: [email protected] | Password: (Same one used to log into their Chromebook)

  5. After logging in the first time, ClassLink will remember your login and the will auto-populate the next time your child signs in with Google.

Platforms We Use & What They're For:

 

Lexia Core5: Personalized reading support at your child’s skill level

  •  Students are required to complete a specific number of Lexia minutes per week (you can access your child’s weekly goal).
  • Lexia is assigned and monitored weekly; it must be completed during W.I.N. time or at home if needed.

Lexia builds essential reading foundations, fluency, and comprehension. It adapts in real time to meet your child’s exact needs.

NoRedInk: Writing, grammar, and sentence structure practice

  • Students will receive targeted grammar and writing assignments through this program.

  • It’s used for both skill-building and assessment.

 Strong grammar supports stronger writing, and NoRedInk keeps it student-friendly and personalized!

Newsela: Reading nonfiction articles that connect to real-world topics

  • Students will complete assigned articles and quizzes related to what we’re learning in class.

  • Articles are available at multiple reading levels to support all learners.

 Newsela helps students build background knowledge, vocabulary, and reading stamina with content that’s relevant and engaging.

CommonLit: Reading comprehension and literary analysis

  • Students will complete assigned texts, comprehension questions, and writing responses.

  • Texts include fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and historical documents.

CommonLit helps students develop critical thinking and text evidence skills that prepare them for advanced reading tasks.

Moozoom: Social-emotional learning through real-life scenarios

  • Students participate in weekly lessons focused on topics like managing emotions, resolving conflict, and handling stress.

SEL is a key part of our classroom culture. Moozoom empowers students to better understand themselves and others, which helps create a safe, respectful, and productive classroom.

McGraw Hill Social Studies: Our 5th grade Social Studies textbook, available digitally

  • Students can access reading material, assignments, and review tools through the McGraw Hill app on ClassLink.

Easy access to our textbook helps students stay caught up and review material at home, especially helpful for absences or test prep.

Typing Club: Improve typing fluency and accuracy (Accessed separately)

  • Students may use Typing Club during W.I.N. time or at home to practice their skills.

  • Students can log in at home using this link: 🌐 TypingClub Link and use their school Google login

Efficient typing helps students keep up with online assessments, Google Docs, and digital writing assignments with confidence.
