At Upper Elementary School, we are committed to supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of every student. Our team offers proactive and responsive services to help students thrive in and out of the classroom.
💬 Monthly SEL Instruction
All students receive one Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson per month during homeroom. These lessons focus on building resilience, emotional regulation, communication skills, and responsible decision-making. Lessons align with our Respect theme and CharacterStrong framework.
🧠 Individual & Group Counseling Services
Our School Counselor and Social Worker provide short-term individual and small group counseling based on teacher referral, student request, or parent concern. These sessions may address topics such as:
If longer-term therapy or specialized mental health support is needed, families may request a referral for outside therapy.
🎖️ Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC)
UES is proud to partner with a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) who offers confidential, non-medical support to military-connected students. MFLC services include:

Consent is required for students to participate in MFLC sessions.
🧭 Care Solace: 24/7 Mental Health Navigation
North Hanover Township Schools partners with Care Solace, a complimentary service to help families quickly and confidentially connect with mental health or substance use providers in the community.
