Chromebook Use & Responsibility Policy
At Upper Elementary School, each student is assigned a Chromebook for school use as part of our 1:1 device initiative. Chromebooks support learning across all subject areas and are an essential part of daily instruction.
Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement
Each year, parents/guardians must review and acknowledge the Chromebook Agreement via the North Hanover Genesis Parent Portal. Until this acknowledgment is received, students will not be permitted to take Chromebooks home. Devices will remain at school and be available for daily use.
Personal Devices Not Permitted
To ensure network security, compatibility with instructional software, and equity for all students, personal/home devices are not permitted for student use during the school day. Students must use their district-issued Chromebook for all academic tasks and assessments.
Student Responsibility
Students are expected to:
-
Use only their assigned Chromebook
-
Bring the device to school fully charged (if taken home)
-
Handle the device with care and follow all technology use guidelines
-
Report any issues or damage immediately to their teacher
Regardless of whether the Chromebook is used at home or remains in school, students are responsible for the care and condition of their assigned device.
