Distribution of Birthday Invitations
To maintain an inclusive and respectful school environment, the following procedure must be followed regarding the distribution of birthday party invitations:
-
Invitations may not be distributed during class time or in common areas (e.g., lunchroom, playground, hallway) unless prior approval has been granted by the classroom teacher.
-
If invitations are to be distributed at school, one of the following criteria must be met:
-
Students must give the invitations to the teacher, who will oversee or facilitate distribution at an appropriate time, such as during dismissal or in take-home folders.
-
Selective distribution that excludes only certain classmates is not permitted on school grounds.
-
Families are encouraged to handle invitation distribution outside of school using email, text messages, or other private means, especially if the party is limited to a smaller group.
