At Upper Elementary School, we are proud to support our military-connected students and families through our on-site Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC). Our MFLC is available full-time, five days a week to provide confidential, non-medical counseling services that help support the unique needs of military families.
MFLC services include:
-
Individual and small group support for students
-
Assistance with coping skills, transitions, deployment-related stress, and peer relationships
-
Parent consultations and family support
Confidentiality is a key component of the MFLC program. While MFLCs do not maintain formal records, they do collaborate with school staff (with parent permission) to ensure students feel supported.
Participation in MFLC services requires parent/guardian permission, which is granted annually through the Genesis Parent Portal at the start of the school year.
