Parent-Teacher Conferences

At Upper Elementary School, we value strong partnerships with families and believe open communication is essential to student success. Whether it’s to celebrate progress, address concerns, or align on strategies, conferences are a vital part of that collaboration.

Formal Conferences

  • Fall Conferences: Held annually for all students. Teachers will provide sign-up opportunities and schedule a dedicated time to discuss academic and behavioral progress.

  • Spring Conferences: These are optional and scheduled at the teacher’s discretion based on student needs or parent requests.

6th Grade Conference Structure

In sixth grade, homeroom teachers typically hold individual conferences with families. As needed, teachers may schedule joint conferences involving all three core subject teachers to ensure aligned communication and support.

Requesting a Conference

Families are encouraged to reach out to their child’s classroom teacher directly via school email to request a conference at any point in the year.
Teachers will respond during regular school hours and within a reasonable timeframe—typically within one to two school days.

Please note: Teachers and administrators are not expected to respond to emails during evenings, weekends, or school holidays. We value our staff's well-being and family time and appreciate your understanding..

Conferences with the School Counselor or Social Worker

If your concern involves peer relationships, emotional well-being, attendance, or family changes, the school counselor or social worker is available to assist.

To schedule a meeting, please call the main office or email the staff member directly during school hours. Meetings can be held in person or virtually as needed.

Conference with the principal

In most situations, concerns should first be addressed with the classroom teacher. If additional support is needed after that conversation, families may contact the building principal to discuss next steps or schedule a follow-up conference
