To maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment, the use of personal electronic devices—including cell phones, smartwatches, headphones, and gaming/music devices—is regulated during school hours and while riding school transportation.
During the School Day
-
Upon entering the school building, all personal electronic devices must be turned off and stored in lockers.
-
Devices may not be visible or used during class, hallways, recess, or lunch unless approved by a staff member for instructional purposes.
-
Smartwatches are not allowed on the students unless designated for medical reasons.
-
Devices used during the school day without permission will be confiscated and returned only to a parent/guardian through the main office.
-
The school is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal devices.
On the School Bus
-
Students may use personal devices (e.g., music players, handheld games) while on the bus, provided they:
-
Use headphones (if applicable),
-
Keep the volume at a respectful level, and
-
Do not take photos, record video/audio, or make calls/texts.
-
A bus driver may request that a student not use a personal device as a Tier 1 consequence for inappropriate bus behavior (e.g., ignoring directions, causing disruptions). If misuse continues, the privilege may be temporarily removed, and parents will be notified.
