Classroom and School Visitors
The North Hanover Township Board of Education welcomes visits to its schools by parents/guardians, community members, Board members, and educational professionals—when such visits support the school’s mission and do not disrupt instruction. Visiting During Lunch and Recess
At Upper Elementary School, we understand that lunch can be a meaningful time for families to connect with their children. To ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive experience for all students, the following procedures apply to any parent/guardian visiting during lunch or recess:
General Guidelines
-
Parents/guardians are welcome to visit during their child’s scheduled lunch period.
-
Visitors must sign in at the main office, present photo identification, and wear a visitor badge while on campus.
-
Upon arrival, visitors will be directed to a designated family lunch table to enjoy time with their child. Other students are not permitted to join you and your child.
-
Students can not be taken outside of the lunchroom to eat with their parents in another school location.
Bringing Food
-
You may bring lunch for your own child only.
-
Sharing food with other students is strictly prohibited, due to food allergies and safety concerns.
-
No outside deliveries (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats) will be accepted for students during the school day or held for you until you arrive by office staff.
Lunchroom Expectations
-
Visitors must remain at the designated family table and may not move between student tables.
-
Please be mindful of noise levels and allow all students to enjoy a calm and welcoming lunch environment.
-
Visitors are expected to respect the space, supervision protocols, and directions of staff members on duty.
Recess Visitation
Additional Notes
-
Any sibling attending must remain seated with their parent at all times and may not join student groups.
-
Visitors must follow all school rules and expectations while on campus. Disruptive or unsupervised behavior may result in loss of lunch visitation privileges.
