📚 Library & Media Center

Our UES Library is a welcoming space that fosters a love of reading, research, and lifelong learning. With a growing collection of fiction, nonfiction, and multimedia resources, students are encouraged to explore their interests, build literacy skills, and become confident, curious readers.

📖 Weekly Library Classes

  • Grade 4 students attend a weekly 45-minute library class, where they:

    • Learn library skills and digital literacy

    • Participate in read-alouds and book discussions

    • Explore research and inquiry-based projects

🔄 Flexible Access for Grades 5 & 6

  • Grades 5 and 6 are encouraged to visit the library throughout the week

  • Open checkout times are typically available:

    • During R.E.I Block 8:00-8:45

    • Midday (before/after lunch)

    • During classroom-designated times

  • Students are empowered to select independent reading books and use the space for quiet reading, research, or small group collaboration
